Now I actually don’t really like hot weather, UNLESS I can be in the water, which, thankfully, we will be later in the week. Our lake gets pretty busy over the holiday weekend anyway, so we just kind of camp out at the beach or in some swim spot. In and out of the water as much as possible. Probably some light beers. A/C in the bedrooms. Done.
After such a long, cold winter, and a long, cold, wet spring, this is SO welcome. Bring it.

We went from, “will is stop raining and being cold already” to “fuck it’s too hot”
It’s like we went from 2 months of early spring weather to dead of the summer weather. I just want it to be 65-75 everyday, is that too much to ask?

I’m jealous of that forecast. That would be an October like forecast here. I’m ready for November again.

Some of your high temps will be our lows overnight in Houston. Probably not this week, but in the next couple of weeks.

This is my favorite time of year. Our June gloom just went away, my favorite holiday is this week, and the forecast looks like this:
Enjoy the water!

Did you see the lows he listed?!?! We won’t see those temps ‘til... What? LATE October (if we’re lucky)?

Yeah man I’d love a high of 78 and a low of 55. But I guess if I can jump in and out of the lake all day and wear little more than board shorts, I’ll be ok.
After listening to people moan and groan about the cold, I hope to hear only positive vibes about this forecast around here. But we all know what will happen.

Ouch. I mean, I know that’s more or less just how it is, but still. I couldn’t do it.

That is amusing to me as well, but I went out the morning after a freeze once and I won’t do it aga in .
I was interning in north Dallas and living closer to downtown. It was the first day of my internship, and the night before there was a reasonable amount of freezing rain. While I grew up in Austin, my parents are from Nebraska so I learned how to drive properly. I had all season tires on my 2WD Explorer, and I went to the store the night before and got sand bags and put them as far back in the cargo area as I could.
I got up in the morning and drove to work, since I was supposed to be there at 0800. I don’t recall how many cars I saw in the ditch, or bro trucks that went flying by me only to slide off moments later. The one part I remember clearly was a Mustang go by me right before a bridge, then about 100 yards in front of me begin to spin, probably doing a 720 before landing in the ditch.
I drove about 10-20 MPH the whole way and got there on time. For my punctuality I was rewarded with waiting in the security room until after lunch, when EVERYONE else showed up to work that day.

SoCal. Redondo Beach, a little southwest of LA. It always pretty nice, but July is the best.

I only moan about the cold when it’s below zero or if it’s under 50 and raining.

I went to the doctor in Austin when it had gotten a dusting. Not a long trip, and wasn’t at all a problem from someone who had lived in upstate NY, but I saw six crashes along Ben White in the span of less than a mile (not even the elevated section, so this wasn’t a bridge freezes before road situation) . I got to the doctor, and of course they were closed.

You are correct. I have little use for either of those weather phenomena.
